Azerbaijan, is one of the most challenging street circuits in the Formula One Calendar. It is also one of the longest street circuits in the calendar, taking the drivers from the main straight and all the way up to the castle. 2021 Azerbaijan GP (Formula1)
The 2021 Azerbaijan GP would be an extremely dramatic race. Title rivals Lewis Hamilton & Max Verstappen, would unfortunately have a bad race weekend. Verstappen crashed on the main straight while going in about 200mph. His crash gave Hamilton a huge chance for another race victory, to increase his points in the World Championship. However, the race was red-flagged after the crash and during the restart, Hamilton accidentally left a switch on, that would heat up his tyres. That made him lock up into turn one, which made him go towards the run-off area and putting him in last place. That dramatic moment allowed Sergio Pérez, to take the victory at Baku.
The Baku City Circuit, is still a pretty new track in the Formula One Calendar. But over the past 9 years, it managed to serve memorable moments in the sport. The track has also been loved by fans, thanks to it's challenging corners and great photographic shots.
